Sorrento is without a DOUBT one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. We decided to go in July, making the most of the time during which my sister Evie was in the Galapagos Islands on a school expedition, therefore meaning that my boyfriend Dan could come along with my me and my parents.... YAY. I had never heard of Sorrento before but my mum and dad wanted to go again as they had visited on their honeymoon, and I can definitely see why...

This restaurant was AMAZING, called 'L'Antica Trattoria' in the centre of Sorrento. I had a desert which was actually life changing. Chocolate mousse with passion fruit sauce and Japanese biscuit crumble, accompanied by an Italian man playing the mandolin, what more could you want.

hhhhew

This was taken in Capri, a beautiful island off Sorrento. The place was full of restaurants with amazing views and endless designer shops, making it well known for being visited by celebrities. I couldn't resist looking in some of the shops, but had to stop after taking a dress to the till after trying it on thinking it was €38, but then finding out it was €800. That was the end of my shopping spree.

This was the view from Capri which we saw after walking up the traditional alleyways to find a beautiful restaurant on top of the mountain, named 'Ristorante Le Grottelle'; overlooking the sea and the sights of the rest of Sorrento in the distance. We had definitely earned a huge meal after climbing to the top of Capri in that heat! And I quickly realised it was the wrong day to wear a tight bodycon dress...

Our hotel was absolutely stunning, called 'Grand Hotel Capodimonte'. It was literally built into the side of a mountain, giving us amazing views of Sorrento Bay. The infinity pools were my favourite, and at night they put little floating lanterns in them which was so cute. I will never forget the view from the top infinity pool, where you can see Mount Vesuvius in the background... (thankfully it didn't erupt).

Here is Mount Vesuvius, which we climbed one day to the top of the crater. It was such a trek but amazing to see the size of it. Although, as soon as we reached the top a guy said 'there's smoke coming out which means it's going to erupt!'. Not the best thing you want to hear when you're standing right on top of the crater. Despite that it was incredible to see, as well as the ruins of Pompeii which were actually so interesting, and it was crazy to imagine the eruption from the perspective of those who actually experienced it thousands of years ago.

This was our last night in Sorrento! My mum and dad went back to the 'L'antica Trattoria' restaurant because they LOVED it that much, whilst me and Dan ate at the hotel restaurant overlooking the pool to celebrate our 2 and a half year anniversary! This is why we look a little dressed up...

This whole meal was unbelievable. It was one of those moments where everything was literally perfect, and the view at night from where we were sitting was something that no picture could do justice! Dan and I had 'crepe suzettes' as a desert, where the chef cooked them in front of us and they were SO good. The whole night was amazing, and an unforgettable end to our holiday.

To sum it up, Sorrento is absolutely INCREDIBLE. Before this we had mainly spent our holidays laying on beaches for 2 weeks, and admittedly this was mainly my idea. I normally love to lay in the sun for the whole holiday and just pig out on all inclusive food...however combining this with the sights of Sorrento was perfect. There's so much to do with the perfect weather for chill days too. I would not hesitate at the chance to visit again, and I hope to soon!

Ciao for now,

Bella x
